Kellie's Castle





Kellie's Castle (sometimes also called Kellie's Folly) is a castle located in Batu Gajah, Kinta District, Perak, Malaysia. The unfinished, ruined mansion, was built by a Scottish planter named William Kellie Smith. According to differing accounts, it was either a gift for his wife or a home for his son.Kellie's Castle is situated beside the Raya River (Sungai Raya), which is a tributary to the Kinta River.Kellie's Castle is now a popular local tourist attraction, with some believing it to be haunted.

Taiping Zoo (Malay: Zoo Taiping) is a zoological park located at Bukit Larut, Taiping, Perak, Malaysia. Established in 1961, Taiping Zoo is the oldest Zoo in Malaysia. It is one of the major zoological parks in Malaysia. It covers 34 acres (14 ha) and exhibits 1300 animals representing 180 species of amphibians, mammals, and reptiles. It also has a night safari. As the only zoo in North Malaysia, it tends to receive a large amount of visitors. It houses the largest number of stump-tailed macaques in Malaysia, which is thirteen, compared to six at the National Zoo of Malaysia (Zoo Negara) and five at the Malacca Zoo. Museum Pasir Salak

Pasir Salak Historical Complex is a pleasant compound of traditional Malay buildings which together form a museum alongside the Perak River about 50 kilometres south of Ipoh. The Complex was officially opened to the public in 2004. Everything seems peaceful now but it was not always so for it was here that the first British Resident of Perak, Mr. J.W.W. Birch was assassinated in 1875. This museum you can coming from the Ipoh direction, highway A15 from Batu Gajah takes you most of the way. You will see plenty of signposts for Pasir Salak Historical Complex (Kompleks Sejarah Pasir Salak). The final few kilometres takes you in a roundabout direction because you have to cross the Perak River and there are not many bridges in this vicinity.
